Springly the Dragon Tree Elf

The Story of Springly

A long time ago, right here on the island of Tenerife, a native tribe of people called the “Guanches” lived below mighty Mount Teide. Tall and strong, the Guanches lived in complete harmony with nature and worshipped the Dragon Tree (Drago) as a kind, generous deity with special and unique healing powers. One day, the whole tribe came together in the ancient laurel forest, to celebrate the incredible power and beauty of Mother Nature. They gathered in a beautiful spot close to the Great Tree, the oldest and best loved Dragon Tree on the island, and spent the night singing, laughing and celebrating. As the sun came up the next morning, they left the forest and started to return, tired and happy, to their homes. Suddenly, a light breeze blew through the forest, and, very soon afterwards, a small Dragon Tree sprung out from the ground. The other trees in the forest woke up to discover the newest addition and decided to call him Springly, as he had appeared on the very first day of Spring.

The mascotte of Spring Hotels

Springly isn’t really a tree at all! He is, in fact, a woodland elf, with hair made of large, pointy, green leaves, just like those of the Dragon Tree and arms and legs just like children.

3D model

We designed the 3d shape of Springly starting from sketches and giving them simple volumes. These 3d previews helped in the production of fiberglass statues of SpringlyWorld theme park.

Landscapes

These landscapes are the starting point of the Springly World theme park. They represent the three main environments of the island of Tenerife, where the golden beaches give way to the old Laurisilva tree forests and finally turn into the lunar landscapes of the Teide, the highest mountain in the region.
